If you are looking for a dog who is loyal, eager to please & very intelligent. A poodle is your type of dog. Not to mention poodles are agile, easily trained & beautiful. They have very thick fluffy coats & do require lots of grooming & regular brushing from their owners. When you see how beautiful & proud poodles are when professionally groomed you will spare no expense to get them this way.

Poodles conveniently come in three sizes. Standard size, being the largest size poodle, has a height of 15 inches and up. Miniature size ranges between 10 & 15 inches. For the true lap dog lover, the toy size poodle is perfect, measuring 10 inches & under.

Poodles make great show dogs with their beautiful coats. Because they are easily trained they do very well in the agility ring. In fact they seem to really enjoy it. Poodles are very cheerful, happy dogs. They are typically very obedient when trained. Standard size poodles seem to be more independent where smaller sizes like to be closer to their owners. They require medium exercise, standard size poodles may require more as they like to run about.

Poodles are typically not noisy when trained. A well bred poodle usually will not be aggressive with people they know. Although they can be protective of their owners. Smaller size poodles may be shy towards people & dogs they do not know. Do not force them, let them adjust slowly on their terms, or they may strike out.

Poodles come in a variety of beautiful colors. White, cream, apricot, blue, silver, chocolate & black are most common. There are some other, off, rarer colors. One is called a party, which is black & white. The other is called a phantom, which has grey that fades into a white.
